Bow Tie Guy of the Day: Chipmunk

Chipmunk (ˈCHipˌməNGk)

This one is for my daughter. She asked that I draw a chipmunk a while ago.  They are found throughout North America and they are plentiful in Vermont. I have spent some time drawing these in the past so this one came a little easier. I was also able to play with it being more than just walking like the other bow tie guys.

Woodstock Vermont

This is a small information shack found at the park in Woodstock, Vermont (a location I love to sketch at). Woodstock is a beautiful little village and has a wonderful small town feel to sketch. I try to go there often.

Opening this weekend at the NorthWoods Stewardship Center

I am excited to be one of 26 artists exhibiting work at the NorthWoods Stewardship Center in East Charleston Vermont. The exhibit is part of a celebration of 26 years of natural resource stewardship in the North East Kingdom of Vermont. I will be showing an illustration created specifically for the even that also ties in with the alphabet book I have been working on. The title is “While wondering through a wooded winter wonderland a whale wooly mammoth and wombat wax Wagnerian wearing a wacky wealthy wardrobe.” I will post the work at some point after the opening. Unfortunately I will not be at the opening on Sunday as I will be sketching in Europe.

Day 9 of 31 Creature Bow Ties (IF Mirror)

Gargoyles (ˈgärˌgoils)

One of the places I love to go and draw is the Fairbanks Museum in Saint Johnsbury, Vermont. These two gargoyles are above the entrance to the museum. I added the bow ties, glasses and sweater vest. As they are mirroring each other I thought they would be a good addition to Illustrations Friday's word mirror.
