Bow Tie Guy of the Week: The Questing Beast

Questing Beast (kwest-iNG bēst)

A mythological creature originating from Arthurian Legend. This beast has the head and neck of a snake, the body of a leopard, and the feet of a hart (I included the haunches of a hart and a snake like tail as well). The name questing is based on the sound the beast makes, which is the sound of barking that comes form the belly. It is said to sound like a pack of hounds questing.

 I found this is a process that ebbs and flows. At times you are stuck, or falling back on past themes just to get tot he next level of creative out burst. Here I went back to transforming animals into elephants. After the full 100 were completed, I recognized that this is a necessary step to get to something truly different. It isn't a bad idea, it just isn't as creative as others, but it is a necessary step.

Weekly Bow Tie Guy: Chimera

Chimera (kīˈmi(ə)re)

I have had this on my list of Bow Tie Guys for some time. It is a complex creature and it took a while for me to get my head wrapped around how to draw it. 

The Chimera is a fire breathing creature from Greek mythology. Traditionally it had the head of a lion and goat with the goat's body and a serpent tail. In current iterations have the addition of the dragons head and dragon wings. I thought it was humorous to add the bulkiness of the lions front legs and the thinness of a goats hind end.

Its the year of the Snake

The Chinese New Year started yesterday and in honor of the year of the snake I decided to finally do a snake bow tie guy.
