This is another one I had been working on for some time. 

#37 of 100 Elephants: Something Different

Number 37 found me trying a caricature of an individual. The challenge was how do I get the individual look like an elephant and make the recognizable. In this instance, I selected the president of  Lyndon State College where I teach.

#33 of 100 Elephants: The Queen

I not only saved the strongest of the chess pieces for last, I delayed creating her to give me time to figure out how to work a bow tie that was more appropriate for a traditional queen.

Day 11 of 31 Days of Creature Bow Ties

Ammut ('aemit)

This is a creature that has fascinated me for some time. It is the soul eater in Egyptian 
mythology. Ammut is comprised on the three man eating animals in Egypt, of the head 
of a crocodile the torso of a lion and the hind end of a hippopotamus.
They look cool on the Egyptian papyrus. I don't know what to think about this one. I 
hope to refine the drawing a little an re post the color soon. 

If anyone was wondering what happened to the 10th day, there are two gargoyles. 
Life is hectic sometimes.

Bow Tie Gal of the Week

Hen (hen)

I am working hard on getting my work out to publishers again. I have found that you cannot wait for the time to do it. If you do, It will not happen. You just need to make the time and get it going. This was part of a submission to a publisher. I was working on the cover letter last night and Julia said I needed a chicken with a bow tie. Personally, I think chickens are foul, but I had to agree that it needed one. Despite my feelings about the bird, I loved drawing it (much easier than cows).
